What might affordable counselling online help you with?
Therapy isn't necessarily about fixing something that's wrong. It can be an opportunity to understand yourself more fully, explore experiences that have shaped you and develop different ways of relating to yourself and others.
People come to therapy for many reasons. Three themes often emerge.
Emotional resilience
Life brings challenges that aren't always within our control. Therapy can help you explore how you respond to difficult experiences, understand the feelings they bring up and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself. Resilience doesn't have to mean being unaffected by life. Sometimes it means understanding why something affects you so deeply.
Mental clarity
Our thoughts, feelings and behaviours aren't always easy to understand. You might notice yourself responding in familiar ways, struggling to make decisions or feeling caught between what you think you should do and what you actually want. Therapy offers space to explore those experiences, recognise patterns and consider different perspectives.
Personal growth
Personal growth isn't necessarily about becoming a different person. It might mean understanding what matters to you, developing more satisfying relationships, becoming more comfortable with your feelings or making choices that better reflect who you are. Sometimes the most meaningful changes begin with a deeper understanding of ourselves.
You don't need to arrive with a particular goal. Curiosity is a perfectly good place to start.
Your experiences are yours and we believe that your therapy should reflect that.
No two people arrive at therapy with the same experiences, relationships or expectations.
That's why we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Your therapist will work collaboratively with you to understand what's happening in your life, what matters to you and what you might want from your time together.
Some conversations may focus on what's happening now. Others may explore earlier experiences, relationships or patterns that have developed over time.
Your needs and priorities may also change as therapy progresses.
The therapeutic relationship gives you room to explore those changes, without having to follow a predetermined script.
Therapy should be something you participate in, not something that's done to you.
Good therapy should be more accessible.
We know that finding the right therapist can be difficult. The cost of regular sessions can make the decision harder still.
COR was created because we believe meaningful psychotherapy should be accessible to more people.
Our model brings together carefully selected, practice-approved, pre-qualified psychotherapists and highly experienced clinical oversight.
Many of our practitioners bring substantial experience from previous careers and professional backgrounds alongside their psychotherapy training.
By working with practitioners at this stage of their professional development, we're able to offer therapy at a more accessible price.
We take care over practitioner selection, clinical supervision and the relationships we help establish.
Affordable doesn't have to mean impersonal. And accessible shouldn't mean compromising on professional care.
Sessions are just £35
Somewhere you can be yourself.
Most of us spend a considerable amount of time considering what other people need from us. Therapy offers a different kind of relationship.
You can talk about experiences you find difficult to share elsewhere, explore feelings you don't fully understand or simply take time to think about what's happening in your life. You don't need to protect your therapist from difficult emotions, arrive with the right words or know what you want to say before a session begins.
Our practitioners aim to provide a thoughtful, non-judgemental therapeutic environment where you can explore what matters to you. Your conversations are treated confidentially, subject to the usual professional and legal limits, which we'll explain before therapy begins.
It's your time, your space and your opportunity to understand yourself more fully.

Laura Joanknecht
Co-founder & Chief Clinical Officer
Finding someone you feel comfortable talking to is an important part of beginning therapy.
At COR, we take care over the practitioners we work with and how we introduce them to clients.
Our pre-qualified therapists are undertaking recognised psychotherapy training and receive appropriate clinical supervision.
Our practice is supported by experienced clinical leadership, including our Chief Clinical Officer, Laura Joanknecht, who brings nearly 30 years of experience in psychotherapy, clinical supervision and practitioner development.
Laura will begin by understanding what you're looking for, then consider which practitioner may be well suited to your needs.
Because the quality of the relationship matters just as much as the opportunity to access it.
The right therapist matters.
Therapy doesn't have to be complicated.
We've made the process of beginning therapy as straightforward as possible.
01
An Introduction / Consult
We start with a conversation about what brings you to therapy, what you're looking for and any questions you might have.
02
Finding your therapist
We'll consider your needs and preferences before recommending a practitioner who may be a good fit. This can take 1-2 weeks.
03
Beginning therapy
You'll meet regularly with your therapist, giving you time to explore what's important to you. We'll explain the session arrangements, fees and review process before you begin.
Whenever you're ready.
You don't need to have everything figured out.
You don't need to know exactly what you want to talk about.
And you don't need to wait until life becomes particularly difficult.
Sometimes the decision to understand yourself a little better is reason enough.
We'd be pleased to hear from you.
